Roger L. Cook

Roger L. Cook age 76, of Quincy died on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 6:20 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. Roger was born in Quincy in December 9, 1942, a son of Carold L. and Mildred (Cannady) Cook. He married Delfina L. Gabisay on January 10, 1976 in Cebu City, Philippines, and she survives.

Roger had worked at Motorola, and in the years prior to retiring he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers at Quincy as a Lock and Dam operator.

Roger had served his country in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter. His granddaughters were his pride and joy. He was a skilled carpenter, and outdoorsman who liked fishing, deer hunting and mushroom hunting.

In addition to his wife Delfina, survivors include his son, Sean (Stacey) Cook of Quincy; an adopted daughter, Cherilyn (James) Villahermosa of California; grandchildren, Gabriella; Annabelle; and Penelope Cook; Jamie and Sophia Villahermosa.
A brother, Richard (Judith Ann) Cook of Durham, MO and nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Karlyn Campen.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter. Interment with military honors will be at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Ewing, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials are suggested to the Church of St. Peter or for Masses in his memory.

    So sorry to hear of Roger’s passing. I enjoyed visiting with him in the mornings when he came into HyVee for coffee.
