Rodney Frese
Rodney W. Frese, age 67, of Quincy, died on Sunday, June 28, 2020 in his home. He was born on April 18, 1953 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Albert E. and Alberta ‘Peachy’ Frese. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers and received a Masters Degree from Quincy University. He married Jan Hughes on July 19, 1975 in Quincy. She survives.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Rod worked at Gardner Denver for 39 years, retiring as supervisor of managed care.
Rod liked to play golf and fish. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife Jan and their friends.
In addition to his wife, Rod is also survived by:
Three Children: Jen Kern and husband Dustan of Glenwood, Iowa; Kim Sammartino of Denver, CO; and Ryan Frese of St. Louis, MO.
Two Grandchildren: Jacob and Michael Kern.
Two siblings: Julie Reiter and her husband Mike and Jack Frese and his wife Sybil.
Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 1:00 PM in St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Please accept our condolences on Rod’s passing. I just noticed it today and was totally shocked. You are all in our prayers and please allow God to wrap His Loving arms around you and comfort you now and for as long as you need. Rod was a really nice guy and I never saw him without a smile on his face. God Bless and comfort all of you.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Rod. We were blessed to have grown up in a neighborhood with so many good friends. Memories of baseball games during the day, Hide and seek at night, will always be special ones. No words can ease the sorrow in your hearts, and I pray God leaves you with Happy memories with Rod.
I am very sorry to read of Rods passing. It sounds like he grew up to be a fine man and very well liked. I think back to the days of the St. Johns family and the neighborhood. I remember of babysitting for the Frese kids. Julie

Frese Family – My thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time. I had worked with and then for Rod at Gardner Denver and appreciated all the knowledge he shared with me. It was always nice to hear his vacation stories and see the pictures he would share. He will be missed.

Having also grown up in the old St John’s neighborhood, Rod took me under his wing and made sure I was moving in the right direction on many occasions at Gardner Denver.
Frese Family – I had the privilege of working with Rod while at Gardner Denver many years ago. We truly enjoyed Rod’s experience and leadership while he was with us. We are very sorry to hear of the loss and wish the Frese family peace and comfort during this extremely challenging time. God bless.
So sad to hear this news. I worked with Rod his entire time at Gardner Denver. Played golf with him and greatly enjoyed him. He will be missed for sure.

Rod was my first friend in the neighborhood being of same age living across the street. I have so many great memories of our friendship. He was a gentle kind person that I had the pleasure of knowing.
