Roberta Jean Guthrie
Roberta Jean Guthrie, age 75, of Sycamore Healthcare Centre, Quincy, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2013. Roberta was born on November 2, 1938 in Clarksville, MO, to the late James & Ina (Hartsock) Nutt. She married Eugene Guthrie on January 2, 1958. They divorced April 6, 1967.
Roberta worked for Home Aid at the former St. Mary’s Hospital in Quincy. She liked to play bingo and go for car rides.
She is survived by:
A daughter, Lori Guthrie of Quincy
Five brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Nutt, Randy (Linda) Nutt and Larry Nutt, all of Quincy, Gary (Lilly) Nutt of Springfield, IL, and Dennis (Geri) Nutt of Tracy, CA;
Two sisters, Jayma (Bill) Arnold and Cindy (Milt) Willingham, of Quincy
Six grandchildren, Amy (Bryan) Parmer, Tampa Bay, FL, Carrie Stark of Merriam, KS, Randa Stark, Megan Stark, Krista Guthrie and Brandon Guthrie, all of Quincy;
Five great grandchildren, Evan, Leyton, Nolan, Ethan & Kaiah and one on the way
Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews;
A special friend Jackie Beebe who would take her out for car rides & milkshakes along with several other friends and CNA Vanessa Palmer at Sycamore Healthcare Centre.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Stark; a son Troy Guthrie; three brothers, Donald, Rodney & Kerry Nutt; three sisters, Marcia (Nutt) Hale, Karen (Nutt) Hunolt & Vicki (Nutt) Cole, a sister-in-law Jane Nutt, a brother-in-law Richard Hunolt, two nieces Shelly Nutt & Tina (Hall) Webb and a nephew Todd Nutt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the The Crossing, 929 Monroe St., Quincy. Visitation will be held on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to the Crossing or to Blessing Foundation for Hospice. Roberta will be missed by all of us, she was fun to be around always and would make you laugh. We are truly sorry we will not be there to say our final good bye. May she rest in peace.
