Robert V. “Bob” Ludwig

Robert V. “Bob” Ludwig age 82, of Quincy died on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10;00 a.m. in Good Samaritan Home. Bob was born on September 9, 1934 in Quincy, a son of Virgil Julius and Jean Alice Roselyn (Smith) Ludwig. On February 13, 1954 Bob married Carol Pauline Raidt in the former St. Mary Catholic Church in Quincy and she survives.

Bob began working at a young age with his Dad at the family grocery store known as Buehler’s Market located near 6th and Hampshire Streets in Quincy. Bob then worked for Sears Roebuck until he became a realtor associated with Coldwell-Banker, from where he retired. He was a 1953 graduate of Quincy High School.

He was a member of the Church of St. Peter. Bob was a former member of the Quincy Jaycees, and the Elks Club. He was an outdoorsman who liked camping, fishing, and gardening. Bob also enjoyed woodworking and traveling.

In addition to his wife Carol, survivors include his four children, David (Amy) Ludwig of Geneva, IL; Russell (Candia) Ludwig; Laura (Calvin) Kelle all of Quincy; a daughter-in-law of Judie Ludwig of Milan, OH; grandchildren, David’s children: Sarah Ludwig of Phoenix, AZ; and Eric Ludwig of Bozeman, MT;
Stephen’s children: Devon (Brenden) Cuthaw of Sandusky, OH; Alex (Christine) Ludwig of Watertown, NY; and Madeline (Jon) Utter of Louisville, KY; Russ’s children: Jason (fiancée Becky French) Ludwig; Jared (Brandy Lear) Ludwig of Canton, MO; Laura’s children: Erica (Michael) Breckenkamp of Quincy; Travis (Miranda) Kelle of North Branch, MI; Logan (fiancée Anna Leenerts) Kelle of Colorado Springs, CO; and Conner Kelle of Quincy.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his son Stephen Ludwig.
