Robert T. “Terry” Gallaher, Sr.

Robert T. “Terry” Gallaher,Sr. age 62, of 630 N. 6th Street, formerly of 610 Harrison Drive, Quincy, died on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 10:27 a.m. in his home. He was born on September 8, 1947 in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Everett W. & Margaret (Osborn) Gallaher. He married Linda (Davis) Powell on December 17, 1994 in Quincy, Illinois. She survives.

Terry worked for Bob Frese & more recently for Bob Shaffer Construction before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, & cooking.

In addition to his wife, Linda, survivors include:
CHILDREN: Robert Taber and his wife Gina of Quincy, Roy Gallaher of Pekin, IL, Robert Gallaher, Jr., and his wife Betty of Quincy, Richard Gallaher and his wife Andrea of Kirksville, MO, Randy Gallaher and his wife April, Jamie Gallaher and his wife Tracie all of Quincy, Tony Gallaher and his wife Courtney of Pekin, IL, Lisa Gooding and her husband Charles, Jodi Gallaher, & Chris Gallaher all of Quincy;
STEP-CHILDREN: Donnie Davis of Quincy, Ronnie Powell and his wife Carol of West Point, IL, Jason Powell and his wife Sherry of Maywood, MO, & Tammy Wear and her husband Kevin of West Point, IL;Todd Knight and his wife Chrissy, Mike Knight and his wife Pansy, all of Quincy,
BROTHERS: Harry Gallaher and his wife Sharon of Quincy, Ralph Gallaher and his wife Linda of Loraine, IL, Larry Gallaher and his wife Kathy of Quincy, & John Gallaher and his wife Pam of Beardstown, IL;
SISTERS: Betty McCoy and her husband Jim, Janet Gibson all of Quincy,
Mary Sue Morgan and her husband Hurley of Plymouth, IL, & Brenda Davis and her husband Larry of Quincy.
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews also survive.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter & Everett, Jr. Gallaher, and two sisters, Mildred Straube & Barbara DeMoss, & two step-daughters, Michelle Powell & Alfreda Powell.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Terry Cain. Interment will be in Woodville Cemetery near Loraine, IL. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family. www.dukerandhaugh.com

    I’m so sorry to hear of our loss. At least the suffering has ended for him. I thought of you often as Pat kept me posted. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers over the upcoming months.
