Robert Leon Francis
Robert Leon Francis, age 47, of 500 Maine, died on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on November 5, 1962 in Quincy the son of Charles & Joan (Groat) Francis. Leon was a cook for I & I’s tavern. Previous to that, Leon had been a bartender and cook for the Round Up Tavern for many yeras.
On May 17th, 2009, Leon was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for his 25 years of Volunteering for the Quincy Neighborhood Federation. Also in earlier years, Leon had been an umpire for local softball leagues.
Leon loved to sing karaoke.
He is survived by:
HIS MOTHER: Joan Francis of Quincy
A DAUGHTER: Brittany Hunolt
TWO GRANDCHILDREN: Braiah & Braylee Hunolt
TWO BROTHERS: Michael Francis and his wife Theresa and Chuck Francis and his wife Janet.
FOUR SISTERS: Mary Ann Burton of Quincy; Kay Bradley and her husband Eddie, Lori Wegs and her husband Steve and Joyce Emerick and her husband Guy.
Numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.
Leon was preceded in death by his father and a brother Charles Kenny Francis.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM in Greenmount Cemetery by Rev. George Tomko. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
You will be missed by all. It was with great pleasure to have known you Leon. After many years of being away, and seeing you in 2009, you never really changed. You was still the man with the kind heart.

Leon Francis was like a bother to me. He was the best kind of person you could be. I will miss him. See you on the other side bro.

I am sorry for your loss. I have known Leon for a very long time. We went to school together, I went & visited him in the nursing home. He would always come in at Embers when I was bartending. Love to hear him sing ” Born to be Wild” that was his song for sure. He will be missed greatly!!
Leon will be missed dearly. We are never able to hear “2 of a Kind” without thinking of him. He was certainly 1 of a kind. Our hearts go ut to all the family.
