Robert Lee “Bob” Taylor
Robert Lee ‘Bob’ Taylor, age 64, of 1217 Curtis Creek Road, died on Sunday, December 13 2015 peacefully in his home. Born September 21, 1951, in Louisiana, MO, and Bob was a son of Louie Ivan and Mildred Church Taylor. His parents precede him in death. He married Sayan Suchan on December 4, 1975 in Udon City, Thailand where they had met three years prior; they recently celebrated 40 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: daughter Susan Taylor Carvalho and her husband Nathan, son Steven Taylor and his wife Lindsay, granddaughter Natalie Carvalho, grandsons Kham and Hayes Taylor, granddaughter Rowan Taylor, brother William Swarnes and his wife Barbara, sister Marie Hernandez and her husband Leonard, brother Charles Taylor and his wife Wanda, brother Merle Taylor, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family whom loved Bob dearly.
Bob is a 1969 graduate of Clopton High School. Upon graduation, he entered into a 20+ year career in the United States Air Force as an Airlift Aircraft Maintenance Technician. His years of service produced several awards and ribbons to include: the Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, Distinguished Presidential Unit Citation, AF Outstanding Unit Award, AF Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Bob’s military affiliation continued with memberships in The Retired Enlisted Association, the Air Force Sergeants Association, and the American Legion after leaving the USAF.
Upon his retirement from active duty service, Bob returned to the Midwest and began a career in the truck driving industry. He was employed by Gully Transportation for 15+ years until his retirement this year due to ill health.
A visitation will be held at 12PM, Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 1PM. Interment will be at Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum with military rites conducted at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Cancer Center at Blessing Hospital or the American Red Cross.

Although I did not know Mr. Taylor personally, I have had the pleasure of knowing and teaching some of his children and spouses. My condolences to you all.
