Robert F. “Bob” Druffel

Robert F. “Bob” Druffel, age 92, of 301 North 8th Street, died on Saturday, March 07, 2015 at 7:40PM in Sunset Home. He was born on April 21, 1922 in Quincy the son of Henry and Margaret (Rupp) Druffel. He married Alice A. Wismann on April 7, 1948. She preceded him in death on April 10, 1994. He later married Kathleen “Katie” (Smith) Peters on July 1, 1995. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2008.

Bob worked as a machinist and assembler at Gardener Denver. He did not miss a day of work for illness in 43 years. Bob was a member of the local machinist union #822. Bob was a member of the RSVP, the Knights of Columbus and the Senior Group of the K of C. He also helped with the Ladies of Charity. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Bob served in the United States Army during WWII and had tours in Africa, Italy and France.

He is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Diane Smith and her husband Gary of Murfreesboro, TN, Roy Druffel and his wife Karen of Quincy; Dale Druffel and his wife Pam of Kimberling, MO; Ralph Druffel and his wife Sheila of Quincy and Peggy Rowsey and her husband Don also of Quincy.
ONE DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Donna Druffel of Wells, MN
SEVEN STEP- CHIILDREN: Susan Peters of Quincy; Daniel and his wife, Brenda, James and his husband, Gary Mohrman; Nicholas and his wife, Doris; Michael and his wife, Dorothy; Toby Peters; and Theresa Unterfenger and her husband, John.
A BROTHER: Don Druffel and his wife Mick
A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, & Step-great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives also survive.

Bob was also preceded in death by a son Michael Druffel, 2 brothers: Eugene and Richard Druffel and 2 sisters: Charlotte McClain and Rosemary Druffel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 10:00 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Ladies of Charity, the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to St. Francis Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

    When I moved to the Sunset Apts., Bob was the 1st person to introduce himself to me. He was a good friend and I shall miss him!
