On January 29, 2019, Robert E. ‘Bob’ Liggett, Sr., was called home to be with his Lord and Savior. Robert was born on August 31, 1932 to the late Denver and Cecilia (Vandenboom) Liggett. He attended Quincy Notre Dame. He married Anna Mae Obert on May 5, 1956. She survives.

Mr. Liggett served as a Military Police during the Korean War. He was employed with Moorman Manufacturing and retired from there. After retirement, he enjoyed days spent with family and friends doing fun things such as swimming, riding bicycles, and coffee with his fellow Moorman retirees. He continued having daily coffee with the guys at HyVee on Harrison until the day of his death. He was a confirmed member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Bob Liggett, Jr. and his wife Janet; Timothy Liggett and his wife Laurie also of Quincy and Cindy Kretzer and her husband Dan of Mendon, IL.
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Jason Howard and his wife Jamie; Kyle Liggett and his wife Courtney; Kurtis Liggett and his wife Jacquelyn; Nicki Victor and her husband Brandon; Michael Kretzer and his wife Jessie
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Caleb, Chloe, Logan, Vincent, Henry, Braylon, Savannah, Calahan, Olivia, Owen and Olive.
BROTHERS: Joe Liggett and his wife Peggy, John Liggett and his wife Joann, and Larry Liggett and his wife Tawana.
SISTER: Mary Hainline
Also surviving is a special friend: Rebecca Swanson along with her husband John, their two daughters: Kayla Marshall and her husband Jon and Kendra Woodworth and her husband Matt.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Bob was also preceded in death by a brother: Daniel Liggett and two sisters: Pat Skiera and Alma Crabbe.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 in St. Peter Catholic Church. A private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Great River Honor Flight or to St. Peter Catholic Church.
