ROBERT WILFRED DRAKE OBITUARY

Robert Wilfred Drake, age 64, of 921 Maple Street, formerly of 2225 Camelot Court, Quincy, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 9:37 a.m. in his home. He was born on May 3, 1943 in Canton, New York. He was a son of Lester Arthur and Beatrice Marion (Stacy) Drake. He was a graduate of Hopkinton Parishville Central High School in New York. He then attended the Agriculture Technical Institute in Canton, NY. He married Sue Ellen Scheuermann on April 22, 2007 in Quincy. She survives.

Mr. Drake was a member of Riverside Community Church, serving as past elder at the church.

Robert served in the United States Air Force as crew chief from 1961-1966. Robert most recently worked for Otto Vending Service.

Robert was a former member of Elks Lodge 2074, the Zeta Nu Fraternity at Clarkson College, the Boy Scouts and 4H. He enjoyed football, hockey, motorcycles, cars, hunting, stamp collecting, and foster parenting.

TWELVE CHILDREN: Karen McKown and her husband Craig; Katherine Eck and her husband Scott; Stacy Byers and her husband Gary, Darren Drake and his wife Karla, John Hunter; Greg Hunter and his wife Janet, Robyn Clawson, Sheri Snyder, Elizabeth Travis and her husband Shane, William Rossiter and his wife Tiffany, David Rossiter, and Rebekah Minton.
TWO BROTHERS: Leland Drake and his wife Patricia, & Richard Drake and his wife Sharon,
ONE SISTER: Lynda Lee Stone and her husband Robert;
EIGHTEEN GRANDCHILDREN;
ONE GREAT-GRANDCHILD.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, a brother Gary Stacy Drake, a son Robert Michael Drake, and an infant grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. V. Lee Amsler. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery by American Legion Post #37. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Blessing Foundation for Hospice, or Blessing Home Care.
