Robert C. “Bob” Morris
Robert C. “Bob” Morris, age 87, of 1328 North 9th Street, died on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 9:45 PM in Sycamore Healthcare. He was born on January 12, 1926 in Quincy, IL the son of Charles & Ruth (Schullian) Morris. He married Charlene Dumford on August 5, 1950 in St. Francis Catholic Church. She survives. He worked as a foreman for Motorola retiring in 1976. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended Quincy College.
Bob devoted many years to coaching children’s basketball at St. John the Baptist School. He was a member of the Hall of Fame of the CYO, St. John the Baptist School and the Mart Heinen of QU. Bob loved sports and was an avid fan of Chicago Sports Teams.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
SEVEN CHILDREN: Pam Paden and her husband Steve; Gregory Morris and his wife Pamela; Kenneth Morris and his wife Terri; Jeff Morris; Denise Blackledge and her husband Jerry; Roger Morris and his fiance Amy and Kimberly Nixon and her husband Tad all of Quincy.
15 Grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren, 4 Step-great-grandchildren
A BROTHER: Jim Morris and his wife Sue;
2 SISTERS: Rose Gott and her husband Tom and Margaret Andrews and her husband Dan.
2 SISTERS-IN-LAW: Dorothy Morris and Sherry Morris.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Earl Morris and Paul Morris.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 11:00 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Sycamore Healthcare or to St. Francis Catholic School. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Robert C. Morris.
Kim and family — I am so sorry to hear of your father’s passing. Take comfort that he is peacefully in Heaven!!…..probably playing some sports with the Angels:-)
