Robert “Bob” W. Hermesmeyer

Robert “Bob” W. Hermesmeyer age 83, of Curtis Creek Apts. in Quincy died on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 10:40 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. Bob was born August 18, 1925 in Quincy, a son of A.J. “Tony” and Ellen (Overly) Hermesmeyer. He married Norma M. Duker on September 18, 1948 in Quincy’s St. Rose Catholic Church. She preceded him in death October 20, 2002.

Bob was retired from his position as Director of Purchasing at Electric Wheel Division of Firestone.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Bob’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors are:
his children, sons, Michael T. Hermesmeyer and his wife Susan of Stuart, FL;
John A. “Tony” Hermesmeyer and his wife Sheila; Robert D. Hermesmeyer and his wife Jill all of Quincy; a daughter, Heidi Waterkotte and her husband Tim of Fowler, IL;
Eight Grandchildren, Robyn, Katie, Kari, Emily, Kelly, Angie, L.B. and Molly;
four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grand daughter, Brooke Hermesmeyer and a sister, Dorothy Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Keith Ehresman. Private Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials have been suggested to the Bob Hermesmeyer Memorial Fund for the Skilled Nursing Unit at Blessing Hospital.
