Robert “Bob” Pillars

Robert W. Pillars, age 82, of Sullivan, IL, formerly of Quincy, died on Thursday, June 16, 2022 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.

He was born on August 22, 1939 in Quincy. He first married Kay Miller on April 23, 1960. She preceded him in death on September 8, 1999. He later married Marlene Johnson. She preceded him in death. He then later married Jeanine Wynescott. She also preceded him in death.

Mr. Pillars was a welder and a tool and dye maker. He was of the Catholic Faith.

Mr. Pillars loved hunting and fishing. He also greatly enjoyed participating in Civil War re-enactments. He was also an avid gun collector.

Bob is survived by:
ONE DAUGHTER: Theresa Scott and David of Nokomis, IL
GRANDHCILDREN: Amy Stiner and Justin Lankford (Shannon)
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Lexus and Zoey Rockwood; Preston, Caven, Boston and Kashton Lankford.
SIBLINGS: Bill Pillars (Mary) and Barb Pillars.
Numerous other relatives also survive.

Robert was preceded in death by: his father Milo Pillars, his mother Louise Holtschlag Marvin and a sister: Donna Jackson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the services at 1:00/ Memorials may be made to the Courtyard Estates in Sullivan, IL. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Bob was a true and trusted friend for many years. I will miss him. I will cherish the memory of our friendship forever. I know he will be missed by many. My condolences to his family.
