ROBERT B. HUMMEL OBITUARY

Robert B. Hummel, 86, of rural Liberty died at 11:10 a.m. Monday, July 07, 2008 at his residence. Robert was born September 12, 1921 in rural Quincy. He was a son of Charles and Catherine Baumgartner Hummel. He married Rosella Dietrich Mast Hummel on November 14, 1959, at St. Brigid Catholic Church and she survives.

He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty.

Survivors include his wife Rosella; three sons of rural Liberty; Andrew R. Mast and his wife, Linda; Joseph R. Hummel; Michael R. Hummel and his wife, Susan; one daughter, Bonnie A. Mast Cremer and her husband Terry of Canton, Illinois; two granddaughters, Tiffany L. Cremer of Tucson, AZ and Katelyn R. Hummel of rural Liberty. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Anton and five sister; Caroline Beckman, Frances Jansen, Clara Zimmerman, Genevive Veile and Marie Hummel; and two brothers in infancy.

A funeral mass will be Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. Jeff Stone in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty. Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Brigid Catholic Church.
