Rita M. Kroeger age 68, of 2609 Cherry St. died on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:05 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Rita was born October 5, 1945 in Joliet, IL a daughter of William Cecil and Jennie Mae (Briddle) Walker. She married Leroy J. Kroeger in Quincy on February 10, 1962, and he survives.
Rita was of the Christian faith. She was a wonderful, wife, mom, sister, grandma and great-grandma. Rita adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her two dogs Bella and Abbey. She was a terrific singer who enjoyed karaoke, and a favorite pastime was going fishing.
In addition to her husband, Leroy, survivors include her children, Duke (Julie) Kroeger; Tina Kroeger and Bobette Kroeger all of Quincy; Scott Kroeger of Portsmouth VA; and Jennifer Kroeger of Quincy. A daughter-in-law, Kristi Kroeger of Quincy; 12 Grandchildren: Paulla, Brett, Brittany, Michael, Cory, Brandi, Jessica, Zach, Lyndsey, Shia, Lauran and Trent. 15 Great-Grandchildren; A brother, Robert James (Barbara) Walker, Sr. of Quincy; many in-laws, nieces and nephews also survive.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William Kroeger and a brother, William Cecil Walker, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Foundation for HOSPICE or to the Blessing Cancer Center.
