Richard “Tex” Goodin

Richard “Tex” Goodin, age 66, of 527 Broadway Apt. 1010, Quincy, IL, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on May 23, 1946 in Pittsfield, IL, a son of Leslie and Claudie (Duvall) Goodin.

Tex graduated Pleasant Hill High School in 1964. He served in the US Army Reserves and he was called to duty with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Tex worked as a grocery clerk in Louisiana, MO for 25 years. He was a member and served as a board member at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Tex loved to crochet and made numerous afghans for all his nieces and nephews. He also loved to cook and go camping when he was able to.

Survivors include a brother, James Goodin and his wife Debbie of Bowling Green, MO; three sisters, Bonnie Fuqua of Tulsa, OK, Juanita Watts and Minnie Gerdeman both of Pleasant Hill, IL; his long time companion, Jack Baehr of Quincy, five nieces and two nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Spirit. There is no visitation, but family and friends are invited to the memorial services at the Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the Church of the Holy Spirit. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
