Richard Lee Klossing

Richard Lee Klossing age 76, of Forrest, IL died on Sunday, October 19, 2014 in his home in Forrest, IL. He was born March 10, 1938 in Quincy, IL a son of Jacob & Addie (Scherer) Klossing. Richard married Janet D. Webster on December 26, 1959 in Madison Park Christian Church, and she survives.
Richard worked for Caterpillar in Joliet, IL for 30 years prior to his retirement.
He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy. He loved to hunt and fish with his sons, whom he dearly loved along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richard’s favorite time of year was Christmas, he always looked forward to the holidays and getting together with his family.
In addition to his wife Janet, survivors also include his three sons, Rick Klossing of Morris, IL; Ron Klossing of Elwood, IL and Kevin Klossing and his wife Tami of Joliet, IL. Three grandchildren: Amber (Joe) Heilmann; Jessica and Alexander and two great—grandchildren, Brooklynn and Penelope; brothers and sisters, Paul Klossing; Alberta Briddle; Gene Klossing; Willis Klossing; Robert Klossing and May Barnecot ; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers, Jake, Ike, Kenny Ray, Roy and Charles Klossing and a sister Goldie.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, by Pastor Steve Anderson. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #37. Visitation is Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Fairbury, IL.

    Deepest sympathies. I didn’t know Richard, but I knew his brother, Robert. He was a wonderful man. Robert passed away today, 11 days after his brother. I hope they are in heaven together. RIP Richard and Robert.
