Richard L. “Rick” Beding

Richard L. “Rick” Beding age 63, of Quincy died on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 9:40 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Rick was born July 29, 1954 in Quincy. He was the son of Charles “Charlie” L. and Marilyn J. (Altmix) Beding.

One of Rick’s early jobs was working on a river barge. He went on to work at Poage Auto Dealership and later was a card dealer at the Mark Twain Casino.

Rick was a 1972 graduate of Quincy High School where he played football all four years, and he attended Quincy College. He was of the Catholic faith.

He was a member of the Southside Boat Club. Rick was an avid duck hunter and fisherman. He loved boating on the river and “going to the boat” in LaGrange. He was a collector of many things, including arrowheads. He also liked gardening and was proud of his tomatoes and the flowers that surrounded his home.

Survivors include his sister, Lauri Eisenberg and her husband Merlin all of Quincy; nieces and nephews, Christian and Hailey Mizera; Mason, Taylor, and Jordan Eisenberg; a brother-in-law Tim Mizera and his wife Tracy of Raymond, IL. Other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lynn Mizera.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Don Blaeser, O.F.M. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessing Hospital HOSPICE or to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

    Dear Family, I could not believe Rick died, I had not seen him in years but had him in many classes in HS, chatted a lot too, then knowing his grandmother was a cousin of my dads, GEERS, I wanted to see him since I had a mass said for his father at St. Rose.
