Richard L. Rand, age 77, of Quincy, IL, died on Friday, June 12, 2015 in the Good Samaritan Home. He was born on February 24, 1938 in Quincy, the son of Arlo & Geraldine (Calhoun) Rand. He married Mary E. Carolan on June 30, 1962. She survives. Mr. Rand worked at Moorman Manufacturing for over 30 years. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Richard was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is also survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Eric Rand and his wife Dawn of Medford, OR and Erin Bird and her husband Bill of Savage, MN.
TWO GRANDCHILDREN: Alec and Nick Bird
ONE SISTER: Shirley Lucas of Davenport, IA
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Anna Bird, one brother Bob Rand.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 9:30 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
