Richard J. Wellman, age 91, of Quincy, died on Monday, April 9, 2018 in St. Vincent Home. He was born on February 9, 1927 in Quincy, IL the son of Luke & Anna (Berter) Wellman. He married Mary Zimmerman on January 22, 1949 in Quincy at St. Francis Catholic Church. She survives.

Mr. Wellman worked for the former Gates Radio and then Harris Corp. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII. Mr. Wellman was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
THREE DAUGHTERS: Kathy Haden and her husband Gary; Chris McLaughlin-Hultz and her husband Bob; and Cindy Peters and her husband Steve all of Quincy.
TEN GRANDCHILDREN: Stacy Disselhorst; Scott Haden and his wife Kara; Nicole Kroner and her husband Andrew; Kelly McLaughlin; Clayton McLaughlin and his wife Nancy; Leigh McLaughlin and Conner McLaughlin and his fiancé Tiffany Hines; Robyn Tholen and her husband Adam; Adam Peters and his wife Kristin; and Carrie Phillips and her husband Jared.
18 Great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Mr. Wellman was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Martin Wellman, Esther Wellman and Tom Wellman.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Great River Honor Flight or to St. Francis Catholic Church.
