Richard G. Walton

Richard G. Walton age 71, of 1707 North 12th St. formerly of Palmyra, MO died on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 4:30 a.m. in the Illinois Veteran’s Home. Richard was born April 29, 1936 in Quincy, IL a son of Lester H. and Cecilia (Williams) Walton.

Richard was a Police Officer for the Little Rock, AR Police Department for 20 years prior to retiring in 1986,

Richard was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.

He served our country in the U.S. Air Force for nine years including time during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Goforth of Olathe, KS;
and Sandra McDonald of Granbury, TX; grandchildren, Richard Fleming and David Goforth both of Kansas; Shawn, Misty and Kristy McDonald all of Granbury;
six great grandchildren;
a brother, David Walton of the State of Washington;
two sisters, Helen Jones of Quincy and Marjorie Skiles of Canton, IL;
and nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Russell and Lester Walton and Roger Daggs; a sister, Jane Darnell.

Private services are planned. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Memorials to the Illinois Veteran’s Home Activities Fund would be appreciated.
Funeral arrangements are with the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
