Richard F. Vahle
Richard Frederick Vahle, age 73, of 1128 South 20th, died on Monday, September 4, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1944 in Quincy, IL the son of Dale & Marjorie (Kirsch) Vahle. He married Barbara Jean Holtswarth on November 23, 1974 in Quincy, IL. She survives.
Mr. Vahle worked at Gardner Denver for 42 years, starting with the company in 1966 and retiring in 2008. He also served in the Army Reserve.
Richard enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was also an avid Cardinal Baseball Fan.
In addition to his wife, Richard is also survived by:
A DAUGHTER: Carrie (Daniel) Veile of Quincy;
STEPSONS: Doug (Karen) Fields of LaBelle, MO and Larry (Rhonda) Fields also of Quincy.
GRANDCHILDREN: Taylor Veile and Madison Veile both of Quincy.
STEP-GRANDCHILDREN: Meghan Hicks, Curtis (Amanda) Fields, Angie (Aaron Cunningham) Snider; Justin (Claire Rittenhouse) Snider; Adam Snider
STEP-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Keegan, Jake, Klayton, Kamdyn, Colson, Rocky, Tessa, Layla, Wyatt and Fallon.
SISTER-IN-LAW: Linda (“Bud”) Dunivan.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Danny Vahle; sisters: Jean Timme along with her husband Robert and Shirley Beeler along with her husband Wayne, a step-daughter Deborah Hicks; and step-granddaughter Heather Fields.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment at a later date. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Family.

Such sad news to hear. We worked with Rich in the late 90s at Gardner Denver and he was a great man! We have spoke of him often and always remembered how kind and funny he was. Prayers for your family
