Richard E. Grimmer
Richard E. Grimmer, age 78, of Timberpoint Health Care Center, Camp Point, formerly of 103 E. Quincy Street, Liberty, Illinois, died on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 6:45 p.m. in the Home. He was born on March 4, 1930 in Quincy, Illinois. He was a son of Milton & Marie (Terstriep) Grimmer.
Richard was of the Catholic faith.
At one time he was the owner of the Liberty Bee. He then worked for the Adams County Highway Department. He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Dick was a trustee on the Columbus-Liberty Multi-Township Board for sixteen years. He also served as Liberty Township Clerk for sixteen years. He served on the Adams County Housing Authority Board for many years.
Richard loved to hunt and bowl. He was a member of McKee Creek Coon Hunting Club.

TWO SISTERS: Kathleen Mowen of Clayton, Illinois, & Marjorie Bucy of Clarksville, Tennessee;
NIECES & NEPHEWS: Linda Bryant & Dan Bucy both of Clarksville, TN, Gene Mowen of Camp Point, Jim Mowen of Mendon, Kenny Mowen of Camp Point, Jerry Mowen of MO,
Jo Anne Welty of Clayton, Frances Peters of Camp Point, Denny Mowen & Nancy Aikman both of Clayton.
Great Nieces & Nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nieces Mary Lou Huber & Patty Broer, & brothers-in-law Wayne Mowen & Leon Bucy.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Deacon Mike Ellerman. Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Timperpoint Health Care Center Activities Fund or to St. Brigid Cemetery.
