Richard E. Baucom
Richard E. Baucom, age 69, of the Illinois Veterans Home, died on Thursday, August 9, 2012 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on October 24, 1942 in Clayton, IL the son of Lawrence & Dora (Clinging) Baucom. Mr. Baucom was a self-employed mechanic. Mr. Baucom served in the United States Army.
Mr. Baucom greatly enjoyed flying, making his own tools and machines, going to the beach and hunting.
Richard is survived by:
SIX CHILDREN: Jeff Baucom of Quincy, Brian Baucom and his wife Nichole of Liberty; Jeannette Ulloa, Lizeth Baucom, Michelle Baucom and Naome Baucom all of Pensacola, FL.
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Sierra and Dalton Baucom, Natalie and Christian Ulloa, and Yoselin Baucom.
THREE BROTHERS: Jim Baucom and his wife Irene; Ronnie Baucom and his wife Sharon and Roger Baucom and his wife Loretta.
ONE SISTER: Martha Baucom
SISTER-IN-LAW: Ruth Baucom
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Forest Baucom.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the All Faiths Chapel of the Illinois Veterans Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery of the Veterans Home with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the All Faiths Chapel of the Illinois Veterans Home. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
