Richard D. “Ric” Westerman
Richard D. “Ric” Westerman, age 44, of Plainville, IL, took the hand of Jesus and peacefully went to his eternal home in heaven while being surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 6:21 PM in Blessing Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1968 in Quincy, IL the son of Dean Westerman & Garnette “Gay” Lovell Sehm. He married Penny Lenz on June 17, 1995 in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives.
He was a 1986 Quincy High School graduate. Ric was a loved and valued employee at Denman Medical for 16 years, after that he served 8 years as a Service Coordinator at Adaptive Mobility. His expertise and compassion will be dearly missed by all. Ric cherished the many friendships that he made in the 14 years that he worked as a guide at Hadley Creek Outfitters.
Ric lived life to the fullest. He truly loved nature. He was a skilled hunter, enjoyed four-wheeling and country living made his life complete. He deeply valued his friends and treasured every memory made with them. He took great pride in helping others. Ric’s greatest commitment was to be a loving and devoted husband and father to his wife and daughters.
Ric’s inner strength, positive attitude, and fun-loving spirit has been a blessing and was admired by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by: TWO DAUGHTERS: Kassidy Westerman and Kallie Westerman both of the home.
FATHER: Dean Westerman and his wife Patti of Quincy MOTHER: Gay Sehm and her husband Bob of Ormond, Florida.
BROTHER: Randy Westerman and his wife Susie;
MOTHER-IN-LAW: Sandy Wand and her husband Richard;
BROTHER-IN-LAW: Jeff Lenz and his wife Tina all of Quincy.
FIVE NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Parker, Paige, Claire Westerman and Conner and Evan Lenz.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at The Crossing. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Crossing. Memorials may be made to the Family to be used for Ric’s Children or to The Crossing. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. www.dukerandhaugh.com
So sorry for your loss. I am a former schoolmate of his. Even though I had lost touch over the years, I am holding you and your family in prayer and close at heart.
