Richard C. Roberts, age 62, of Fowler, IL, died on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in his home. He was born on February 19, 1955 in Quincy, IL the son of Cecil & Ulna Verlee (Atwater) Roberts. Richard was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School. He married Susan M. (Wilmot) Travis on July 1, 1989. She survives.

Mr. Roberts was a machinist for Gardner Denver for 43 years, from 1974 until his retirement in 2017.

Richard was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He greatly enjoyed duck hunting, golf and fishing. He was an avid Cardinals and Bears Fan. He loved his hunting and fishing trips with family and friends and all the time spent with his grandchildren.

HIS MOTHER: Ulna Verlee Viar of Quincy
TWO CHILDREN: Timothy J. Wheeler and his wife Brenda of Quincy and Chantelle Travis also of Quincy.
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Landon Wheeler, Sadie Cannady and Tucker Cannady.
FOUR SIBLINGS: Jerry Lee Robbearts and his wife Phyllis, Marilyn J. Purcell and her husband Terry, Edward R. Robbearts and his wife Jill, and Bryan E. Roberts and his wife Bobbi.
10 Nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews along with other relatives also survive.

Richard was preceded in death by his father and a brother Cecil Roberts, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Lutheran Church in Quincy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
