Richard C. Ascheman

Richard C. Ascheman, age 84, of 2501 Spring St., died on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 1:20 AM in Blessing Hospital. He was born on October 8, 1925 in Quincy, the son of Harry & Enid (Chatten) Ascheman. He married Carolyn Cordsiemon on August 26, 1949 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2005. Mr. Ascheman was the manager of BF Goodrich working there for 26 years. He later worked for Ron’s Tire for ten years and retired in 1985. Mr. Ascheman was a graduate of Quincy High School and attended Gem City Business College. Mr. Ascheman served in the United States Armed Forces as a Merchant Marine from 1943 until 1949. Richard was a member of the Quincy Boat Club, the Elks Club and the Twin Oaks Club. He was a past member of the Island Club and the Kiwanis Club.

Richard is survived by:
A SON: Richard L. Ascheman and his wife Ellen of Fort Atkinson, WI and
A DAUGHTER: Susan Ascheman of Quincy
TWO GRANDCHILDREN: Christy Ascheman and Michael C. Ascheman.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Tim Ascheman.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No funeral services are planned. Memorial contributions in Richard’s memory are suggested to the Quincy Humane Society. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Susie and Dickie, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Helen told me when I saw you both in the Maid Rite. Hope things are going ok. It was great seeing both of you. Sorry to hear about your Grandma too.
