Rhonda J. Chesney

Rhonda J. Chesney, age 61, of Kinderhook, Illinois, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at her home. She was born on February 24, 1959 in Pampa, Texas, the daughter of Jesse and Gladys (Grimsley) Blackledge.

Rhonda attended and graduated from West Pike High School with the class of 1977. After graduation, she was married and divorced twenty-four years later. She worked several years in childcare, which she enjoyed immensely. Rhonda work for the Swiss Colony in Hannibal, Missouri for the last five years.

More than anything else, Rhonda adored her nieces and nephews and her cats. She and her sister Lori were each other’s best friend – they enjoyed many activities together, including watching Rhonda’s favorite movie, the Wizard of Oz, and attending the Wizard of Oz event in Clarksville, Missouri, as well as seeing Rick Springfield in concert and the many girls’ weekends they spent together in Hannibal. Rhonda was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and she will be loved and missed forever.

Left to cherish Rhonda’s memory are her siblings: Lori (Nick) Hopper of Quincy, Jerry (Debbie) Blackledge of Quincy; her nieces and nephews: Jeff Dietrich, Shaun (Katherine) Dietrich, Cole Hopper, Tish Dietrich, Jerry (Denise) Blackledge, Jr., Crystal (Brent) Daugherty, Rick Martin, Ed Martin, Scott Blackledge, Lisa Sapp, Jenny Blackledge-Miller, Jason Blackledge; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Patricia “Sis” Altheide and Pamela Stevens.

Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services at this time. Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made through www.dukerandhaugh.com.

    Rhonda was a very Sweet Lady.I will miss visiting with her when she came into Wal Mart.I used to tease her and ask her how her husband Kenny Chesney was.She would always laugh about that Prayers to her Family.
