REGINA H. WHITE OBITUARY

Regina H. White, age 93, of Quincy, died on Friday, October 24, 2008 in Blessing Hospital.
She was born on March 30, 1915 in Quincy, a daughter of George & Josephine Rose (Wellman) Kerkhoff, Sr. She married Lawrence D. White on April 10, 1940 in Keokuk, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1973.

Regina was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She was very active throughout her life at church.

Regina was a homemaker. She was a caregiver who took care of everyone. She had eight brothers and sisters and she cared for each of them and their families.

Survivors include:
ONE SON: Larry White and his wife Sally of Quincy;
ONE DAUGHTER: Kathy McElroy and her husband Richard of Ursa;
ONE STEP-DAUGHTER: Maxine Schreader of Peoria;
GRANDCHILDREN: Mark Massingill and his wife Angie of Mendon, Lynn Emerick of Quincy, David Massingill of Quincy, Steve Schreader of Peoria, Linda Gutierrez and her husband Alex also of Peoria;
STEP-GRANDCHILDREN: Julie Gibbs and her husband Jeff of Quincy and Donna Kroner and her husband Jim of Polo, MO;
TWELVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN;
FIVE GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN;
SISTER-IN-LAW: Dorothy Kerkhoff of Quincy.
Numerous nieces & nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, four sisters, and two grandsons, Richard & Thomas Massingill.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church by Father Kurt Hartrich. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church.
