Regina “Gina” Joleen Musholt

Regina (Gina) Joleen Musholt, 59, of Quincy, passed away Monday (February 16, 2015) at 7:45 a.m. at her home. Gina was born on March 30, 1955 in Quincy, IL a daughter to Norman Henry and Bettie Isabella (Smith) Daugherty. She was raised by her parents in LaGrange, MO and graduated from Highland High School in 1973. She married Daniel (Dan) Dean Musholt on July 23, 1977 in the LaGrange Christian Church. He survives.

After high school, Gina worked at Jo-Ann’s fabric and the Art Craft Company as a cartographer. From 1978 to 1985 Gina was employed at Culver-Stockton College in the admissions office until her first child was born. After staying at home to raise her children during their younger years, she later worked as a paraprofessional in special education for the Quincy Public School District from 2004 to 2011. She then devoted herself to spending time with her grandchildren.

Gina enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in a variety of activities, including T-Ball, band, gymnastics, and diving. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader and a Girl Scout Volunteer. Gina was very talented with crafts. She enjoyed sewing, making specialty birthday cakes, reading, and loved taking vacations to the beach. Gina also loved animals and had many beloved. pets throughout her lifetime. Recently, her favorite activities and primary enjoyment involved spending time with her two grandsons, Carter and Regan Musholt.

Gina is survived by her husband Daniel Dean Musholt of Quincy, IL; two children, son Sterling Thomas Musholt and his wife, Heather Lynette, of Quincy, IL.; daughter, Tiffany Danielle Musholt and her boyfriend, Ward Jason Cole, of Beavercreek, OH.; mother, Bettie Isabella Walker of LaGrange, MO.; two grandchildren, Carter Thomas Musholt and Regan Joseph Musholt of Quincy, IL.; two siblings, brother Harley Ray Daugherty and his wife, Katherine Louise, of LaGrange, MO.; sister Dixie Elaine Kennedy and her husband, Ivan Eugene (Gene), of LaGrange, MO.; brother-in-law Bernard Wayne Musholt and his wife, Maurice Bigger, of Sun City Center, FL.; sister-in-law Mary Marlene (Sissy) Shuman of Canton, Mo.; and sister-in-law Caroline Rene Gaus and her husband, Dwain Daggs, of Melissa, TX.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; nephew Harley William Daugherty and wife, Jessica; niece Rhonda Daugherty; nephew Jesse Kennedy; nephew Grant Kennedy; nephew Jeff Shuman and wife, Sherry; niece Crystal Metz and husband, Walt; niece Angela Griesenauer; nephew Mark Shuman, and his wife, Sherry; niece Vicki Krueger and husband, Roger; niece Sherry Hallemeir and her husband, Dan; nephew Aron Gaus and his wife, Jennifer; nephew Tim Gaus and his wife, Sherry; niece Nicole Bettinger and husband, Nick; nephew Fletcher Shuman and his wife, Michelle. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Henry Daugherty in 1974 and her stepfather, Keith Lyndell Walker in 2010.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. www.dukerandhaugh.com
