Randall K. “Randy” Massey
Randall K. ‘Randy’ Massey, age 65, of Payson, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. He was born on March 12, 1957 in St. Louis, MO. He married Sherri Carter on May 8, 1981. She survives.
Randy was a jack of all trades. Along with his wife, he had run a radiator shop in Payson, IL. He had also worked at R.L. Hoener Co. and at Hesco Petroleum. He served in the United States Army, 3rd infantry division – “Hell on Wheels”. Randy was also a 36 year volunteer for the Payson/Fall Creek Fire Department.
Randy’s favorite times were those spent with family, especially the grandkids. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. He dearly loved his canine companion, ‘Bella’.
In addition to his wife Sherri, survivors also include:
HIS MOTHER: Carolyn Wallace Reese of St. Louis, MO
HIS CHILDREN: Tiffiny (Rod) Sawyers of Payson, IL and Mercedes Boden also of Payson.
GRANDCHILDREN: Mackenzie Sawyers, Logan Sawyers, Gabbrien Boden and Jaxtien Miller.
GREAT-GRANDCHILD: Eyilah Sawyers.
Numerous siblings, nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.
Randy was preceded in death by grandparents, Wesley Wallace and Lorraine Burkholder.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until the time of the services at 6:00 PM. A Graveside service with military rites conducted at the cemetery will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Payson New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Payson/Fall Creek Fire Department. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Dear ladies, Sadie and Sherri. I am so sorry for your pain and loss. Difficult time for sure. I am so thankful for the time we all spent together this last summer. I love you both! I am praying for you!
Sorry to hear of Randy’s passing but know that his Grandma “Wally” waited with opened arms. Gone too soon. Sympathies to all of you.

Oh my heart is just broken. I lift you up in prayer today Sherri, im sorry i cant be with you during this time. Ill never forget the times we spent together at Waddyfest. Rest in peace Randy you will always be in my heart and memories.
