Mr. Preston West, age 77, of Quincy, died on December 20, 2024 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on December 28, 1946 in Demopolis, AL the son of Lafayette and Ethel (Powell) West. Preston worked as a Postal Deliveryman for the USPS. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN Jermaine West (Pam), Marisa West and Megan West (Gabriel).
SIBLINGS: Deloris Gage, Tommy West and Rosa McGrew (Columbus).
GRANDCHILDREN: Domonique West, Jawuan West, Sydia Anders, Janai West, Sonja West, Omari West, Kylee Kegl, Gabriella Vargas, Danielle Vargas, Caleb Vargas, and Lila Appleton.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Preston was preceded in death by his parents, a son Preston West, Jr., and siblings: Louisa, Lafayette, Jr., and Raymond.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 9:30 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery of the Illinois Veterans Home with military rites at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral home.
