Phyllis Helen Moore
Phyllis Helen Moore, age 60, of 527 Broadway, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Blessing Hospital. She was born October 20, 1952 in Conway, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Martha (Rackley) Moore Whitney.
Phyllis was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Phyllis was outgoing, generous and always willing to give a hug. She dearly loved her nurses and caregivers who did their best to take care of her. Most of all, her life revolved around her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Calvin Anderson (Rena) of Van Buren, AR, Laird Kroeger, Jr., (Michael Beland) of Galveston, TX, Patricia Adcock (Bryce, Sr.) of Jacksonville, IL, Joseph Kroeger, (Jesse Knowles) of Quincy; four grandchildren:
Bryce Adcock, Jr.; Lauren Kroeger, Connor Adcock and Caleb Kroeger. Her companion, Paul Gibleon, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Larry Moore.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Catholic Church. Visitation is Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
I learned a very valuable lesson from Phyllis. Don’t freak out when bad things happen, just muster your strength and resources and deal! She was the master, I admired her ability to overcome past and present setbacks. God Bless her.
Phyllis was always so willing to help others and she was quick to give a hug when she knew one was needed. I know God is hugging her now.
