Phyllis D. Brown

Phyllis D. Brown, age 88, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Blessing Hospital.  She was born on May 17, 1934 in Marcelline, IL the daughter of Henry M. & Emma S. (Marsh) Henze.  She married Gerald Brown.  He preceded her in death.

 

In earlier years, Phyllis worked at Motorola until its closing.  She then worked as a secretary for Freiburg Insurance Co. and then later as a secretary for the Quincy Housing Authority.

 

Phyllis was a member of the Union United Methodist Church.

 

In younger years, Phyllis greatly enjoyed watching and playing golf.  She also liked bowling and loved shopping.  Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with family.

 

She is survived by:

TWO SONS: Jeffrey Beecher of Quincy and Randy Beecher of Little Rock, Arkansas.

NEPHEW: Darrell Henze (Holly)

NIECE: Juna Hudnut (Curtis)

Several great-nephews and great-nieces also survive.

 

In addition to her husband, Phyllis was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Norman K. Henze along with his wife Marilyn.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.  Interment in Mendon Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home Saturday from 12:30 until the time of the services at 1:30.  Memorials may be made to the Union United Methodist Church.  The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    My thoughts and prayers are with the family today and in the days to come. I loved her so very much. She was so kind and loving to me and so many others. You were an amazing woman who loved Jesus and I know you are with Jesus now. Hug my momma and I will see you again one day.
