I was truly lucky to have him for my Dad, he was the rock of our family. I was so fortunate to be close to both my parents. it was devastating to my Dad when we lost Mom & all our family, Mom had passed. My Dad and I got sooo much closer, if we did not see each other, we called each other several times a day. My brother Erich told me he cherished every time I called him, I know he is sooo much happy he is with my sweet Momma. What gives me comfort he is at peace & with Mom ,and I look forward to the day I will see him & Mom. I miss you sooo much Pop & Love you & Mom sooo much

My father is my best friend, guide and a true man, he guided me into the light of God, to make the right decisions in life and give me advice no matter how hard it may have been. He was there to talk to when I needed him at any hour, he defended me and put me in the right direction, he was never short of a pat on the back and to say “I love you”. He always kissed me on the top of my head as a child and I never ever felt alone or scared, he loved my mother with all his heart and protected his family fearlessly. Together with the help of God my parents showed me how a family should be. He cared about his family more then himself, he showed my sister and I the world while teaching us about his love for music. No words can express the loss I have suffered in the last two years. Loosing my mother and father, my nightmare is now a reality, but my piece is knowing with out a doubt they are with and protected by a wonderful God, It will be a twinkle of the eye before they see me but it will feel like eternity before I see them. Pop is a very hard person to describe because he was many things, you could try to sum it up as if God made everything honest in his heart, pure, caring, loving, protective, believer in God, lover of fine music, a guide, a encyclopedia of knowledge and someone you should mold yourself to be. He was proud of his grandchild becoming a music major, they spent many hours talking over opera’s and fine arts. He loved each grandchild in their own unique way. I looked up to him every day, I loved to tell him something new in my life or good that happened. I will miss Pop and Mom every day till we are once again together.

My husband Dwight and I always enjoyed our times with the Elligsen family. Such wonderful Christian people. Phil was such a hard worker and always had a project. I worked with him at the “Bus Barn” and he was well liked and respected there also. My sincere condolences to Erich, Norma and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have dear memories of you all.

My grandfather was a very good man that helped to raise another very good man (my dad Erich). I will miss him and my grandmother (Hedwig (Hedy)) very much. Both of them have helped raise me alongside my parents and I am honored to have had the chance to have born into a very loving family. My grandfather has taught me many things in my life that have made me into the person that I am today. I will miss going to the operas with him and having someone to talk music with. He has helped me every step of the way with my music and it is because of him, (and God) that I was able to accomplish finishing my degree in music. I will miss traveling to and from Culver with him and the conversations we had together while on my way to school. I will cherish the memories I have of him and I learning the baritone and tuba together. Those lessons not only taught me how to play an instrument, but they also taught me how to be determined and to never give up on anything that I wish to achieve. I will miss listening to the conversations my dad and him had on new projects that they wished to do. Those conversations between the both of them were some of the most interesting and fun filled. My grandfather and my grandmother are both together with our merciful God, sleeping and waiting for the today when all of us are together again.
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)

Pop was a wonderful man. He was a proud man. We had our difference but we loved each other. He missed momma so much and I am glad that he is out of pain and suffering. Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die, so poppa rest in peace now. We love you and will miss you.
