Peggy S. Genenbacher

Peggy S. Genenbacher age 49, of Fowler died on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 4:35 p.m. in her home. Peggy was born June 4, 1969 in Quincy, a daughter of Richard and Betty (Ledig) Stehl. She married James C. Genenbacher on April 21, 1990 in Quincy’s St. Francis Catholic Church, and he survives.

She also helped manage the family rental properties at the Lake of the Ozarks and she was a Mary Kay Cosmetics representative.

She attended Quincy Notre Dame High School. Peggy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Peggy enjoyed boating at the Lake of the Ozarks and the time she spent there. Her life centered around her family and she loved to cook a meal and have her family sit-down together and enjoy it. She avidly took many photos of her family, and she treasured their trips to special destinations.

In addition to her husband James, survivors include her mother, Betty Stehl of Quincy; her triplets: Alyson and Katlyn Genenbacher both of Fowler and Evan Genenbacher of Columbus;

A sister: Sandy (Steve) Wells; two brothers, Bill (Mike) Stehl and Brent (Lisa) Stehl all of Quincy;

mother and father-in-law, Melvin and Patricia Genenbacher of Fowler; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: including Russ (Gina) Genenbacher, Jeff (Diane) Genenbacher & Lisa (Jeff) Neisen of Fowler; Marvin (Tracy) Genenbacher & Billy (Vicky) Genenbacher of Camp Point; and Tammy (Pat) Klingele of Mendon.

Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Peggy was preceded in death by her dad, two brothers, Bruce and Rick Stehl; and a nephew, Patrick Wells.

There will be a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fowler by the Rev. Jeff Stone. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Blessing Cancer Center.

    I don’t know how many times I have called Peggy “Ms. Palisades” From Board member to social chairman, Peggy has always been there for many, many years lending her advice, guidance, and leadership to the PCOA.

    My sincere and prayerful condolences to James and the Triplets. We will all miss Peggy.
