Peggy Maguire

Peggy Maguire, age 59, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in her home. Peggy fought a long and courageous battle with RSD. She was born on June 4, 1955 in Quincy, a daughter of Terry & Patricia (Kerkering) Maguire.

Peggy was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Parkland College in Champaign, IL. She continued her career as the Lead RN for Hospice of Champaign. Peggy was known and loved for her great desire to help others, especially the elderly.

Survivors include:
HER MOTHER, Patricia Maguire of Quincy
TWO SONS, Adam Zopf of Los Angeles, CA and Eric Zopf of Mundelein, IL
TWO SISTERS, Kathleen Kayser and her husband Bill of Perry, MO and Jane Koenig and her husband Hal of Quincy.
Numerous other relatives including aunts, nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father, Terry Maguire, her maternal grandparents Frank & Lela Kerkering, paternal grandparents Robert & Alma Maguire.

Private family services were held. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Peggy was a very beautiful & special lady & will be missed by all who knew & loved her. My husband & I had so much fun during her reign as our “Queen”. Please know you will be in my throughts & prayers. Sincerest Sympathy Mary Twaddle
