Peggy L. Andrews, age 76, of Lampe Hi-Rise Apartments, Quincy, died on Thursday, March 26, 2015in Blessing Hospital. She was born on December 15, 1938 in Augusta, IL, a daughter of Harry Givens, Jr. & Lillie Ellen (Crumm) Summers.
Peggy worked as a CNA for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and everything Scooby Doo. She loved doing arts and crafts projects.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Otten and her husband Robin, Mona Andrews and Michael Andrews, all of Quincy; grandchildren, Jay Sparrow, Brandy (Eddie) Payne, Trisha Sparrow (David Johnson), Deana (Ross) Howell, Amanda Martin, Nicole Andrews, Michael A. Andrews and Donna Jo Marshall; great-grandchildren, Faythbaylie Sparrow, Eyanpaul Schuckman, Drake Sparrow, Koral Johnson, Kelsie Howell (Logan Dabney) and Aidan Martin; siblings, twin Patricia York of Quincy, Harry Summers of Quincy and Vera Zigler of AZ. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Shaun Andrews, a special daughter-in-law Ella Andrews and brothers and sisters, Clarence Summers, Melvin Summers, Nina Johnston, Dorothy Holmes, Opal Dodds, Nellie Cummings and Jolene Summers.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenmount Cemetery, by Chris LeFever. There is no visitation, but family and friends are invited to the graveside services. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
