Paula F. Knuffman – Obituary

Paula Fay Knuffman, age 58, formerly of Liberty, IL, died on Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Sunset Home. She was born August 30, 1954 in Quincy, a daughter of Orville & Claire (Law) Fischer. She married Joseph Knuffman on June 30, 1972 in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2004.

Paula graduated from Liberty High School in 1972 and later from the nursing program at John Wood Community College. She was a nurse in the offices of Dr. Gehrig and Dr. Ruth, prior to working full-time on the family farm.

She was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church. Paula loved the outdoors, working on the farm and being physically active.

Survivors include her mother Claire Fischer of Liberty; two sons Joseph Knuffman and his wife Jenna and Luke Knuffman, all of Liberty; grandchildren, Paige, Reese and Addison Knuffman, all of Liberty and Seth Knuffman of Belvidere, IL; sisters, Holly (Rick) Knuffman of Manville, IL and Nona (Ron) Steffen of Ham Lake, MN. Numerous in-laws, nieces & nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Marilyn (Norman) Still.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty, IL by Fr. Jeff Stone & Fr. Don Knuffman. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Liberty. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Cemetery.

    Dear Joe and Family and Luke,
    We send our sympathies to you all and to your Grandmother, Claire. Your mother always made me smile and I enjoyed any time I got to visit with her. She will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
