Paul B. Schoenekase, age 82, of Liberty died on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 5:13 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. He was born June 20, 1925 in Coatsburg, Illinois. He was the son of Joseph & Mary (Weiman) Schoenekase. He married Lucille Ormond on September 10, 1949. She survives.

Paul was an active member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, serving as a former trustee and member of the Holy Name Society of the church.

Paul was a life-long farmer in the Liberty area. He was an avid hunter, especially with his grandsons.

In addition to his wife, survivors include:
TWO DAUGHTERS: Donna Brummer and her husband Michael of Dieterich, Illinois, and Shirley Hahn and her husband Alvin of Pleasant Hill, Missouri;
TEN GRANDCHILDREN: Paul Brummer and his wife Beth, Joe Brummer and his wife Tina, Andy Brummer, Dan Brummer, Mary Miramontes and her husband Ulises, Jim Brummer, Rose Brummer, Cory Hahn, Angie Zuydendorp and her husband Jake, Becky Coster and her husband Josh;
THIRTEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN,
ONE SISTER: Cecilia Kansteiner along with
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives that also survive.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert & Joseph Schoenekase,
two sisters, Martha Schenk & Helen Welsh.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty by Father Jeff Stone. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at St. Brigid Catholic Church, with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Brigid Catholic Church or to the wishes of the family. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
