Paul L. Schuering
Paul L. Schuering, age 87, of Quincy, died on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 8:20 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. He was born on August 24, 1921 in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Henry B. and Margaret L.(Mast) Schuering. He married Virginia F. Blickhan on August 28, 1943 in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Paul worked as a Machinist at Awerkamp Machine for thirty-seven years before his retirement in 1986.
He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, Minutemen at St. Mary Catholic Church, and he delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Paul was a big Cub fan and a true family man.

ONE DAUGHTER: Pamela LaTour of Quincy;
ONE DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Diane Schuering of Mansfield, IL;
GRANDCHILDREN: Chantel Schuering of Palm Springs, CA, Holly Meyer and her husband George of Quincy, Brent Schuering and his wife Melanie of Mexico, MO, Jeremiah LaTour and Jill Edmunds of Allen, TX, Nathan Schuering of Mansfield, IL, and Courtney LaTour of Quincy.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Kaitlyn LaTour, Cameran LaTour, Garrett Schuering, Damin LaTour, Bailey Schuering, Emma LaTour, and Logan Meyer.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a son Paul Jr., brothers, Harry and George Schuering, and Lawrence Schuering who died in infancy, and one sister, Leona Humphrey.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Monsignor Michael Kuse. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a parish prayer service at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus service. Memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament School or to the Knights of Columbus T.V. Mass for Shut-ins.
