Paul E. Brinks

Paul E. Brinks, age 80, of Quincy, died on Monday, September 5, 2016 in Springfield, IL. He was born on April 28, 1936 in Quincy, a son of Raymond & Ida (Belker) Brinks. He married Judy Terry on April 15, 1961 in St. Francis Catholic Church. She survives.

Paul was a graduate of Quincy High School followed by Parks College in St. Louis where he received his Commercial Pilot’s license. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force.

Paul spent his working career at Gardner-Denver, as Pricing Manager retiring after forty-seven years of service in 2007.

His hobbies included photography, boating and flying airplanes. He was a member of the Civil Defense and the Pilot’s Association. He loved animals.

Paul attended St. Francis Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by three children: Steven Brinks and his wife Sharon, Mark Brinks and Lisa Balzer and her husband Rob; eight grandchildren: Gerritt (Kate) Brinks, Cassandra (Manny) Quintero, Jason (Shanna) Brinks, Ryan (Rachel) Brinks, Drew (Samantha) Balzer, Devin, Dustin and Drake Balzer; great-grandchildren: Jackson Brinks, Julian Quintero, Brooks Brinks and one on the way; and a brother Raymond Brinks, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Fr. Don Blaeser, O.F.M. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
