Patricia L. Dorsey
Patricia L. Dorsey, age 78, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on June 24, 1943 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Fred & Bernice (Hickey) McCaughey. She married Roy ‘Sonny’ Dorsey on January 24, 1971. He preceded her in death. Pat was an RN and was Director of Nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital. She later was a nursing supervisor at the Illinois Veterans Home.
Pat was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She was very active in her faith and was a member of several prayer groups. Pat enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and spending her time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Shawn Dorsey (Danielle) of Jacksonville, IL and Stephanie Coggeshall (Sam) of Quincy.
GRANDCHILDREN: Alvera Dorsey, Katherine Dorsey, Veda Belew, Abigail Belew, Zachary Coggeshall and Silas Coggeshall.
ONE SISTER: Sharon Holthaus (Greg)
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Donna Schelich and a brother Greg McCaughey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 9:30 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church.
Shawn and Stephanie – your Mom was an angel. She is now with Dad again and with Jesus! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Peace to you.
I remember Mrs Dorsey very well, I started working in 1075 and do believe I interviewed with her. She seem to always have a smile on face.And I found out later that her brother Greg was the gas attendant that I use to go flirt with when I was a teenager.Lol! RIP Mrs Dorsey.

Pat was a great lady. She will be miss By all who work with her. and who was related to her. Husband was related to Sonny and Pat was related to My Aunt Mary Hamann.

Very sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. I worked at St. Mary’s when she was director of nursing. I always had great respect for her.
