Patricia Gable

Patricia Ann “Pat” Gable, of Quincy Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, December 19 at the age of 79.

Pat was born in Chicago, Illinois to Paul W. and Cathrin B. (Blondin) Harshman.
A graduate of Danville, Illinois Schlarman Catholic Academy, she worked in local television for many years at CBS affiliates WCIA in Champaign, IL and KHQA in Quincy, most recently writing and producing local TV commercials.

In the past decade and a half, she enjoyed her retirement. She particularly loved reading, going to local concerts and to movies at the Quincy Public Library with her friends, and caring for the elderly, as a regular volunteer at St. Vincent Nursing and Retirement Home. Pat had also served as Reader and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for masses at St. Francis Solanus Parish in Quincy.

She is survived by her 3 children – Theresa Kay Creighton (Paul) of Winter Park, FL, Michael James Proudfit of Quincy, IL and Doyne Marie Liverett, also of Quincy.
She also leaves 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Swango, Jason Swango (Christina), Jennifer Creighton, and Michael Creighton,
as well as 4 great-grandchildren: Dylan, James, Dylanie and Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Paul Harshman, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 PM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 12:00 noon until the time of the services. Memorials can be made to the Salvation Army. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
