Patricia A. Thompson

Patricia A. Thompson, age 70, of the Good Samaritan Home, died on Thursday, March 1, 2018, in the home. She was born on August 24, 1947 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Albert & Alvera (Kamphaus) Laaker. Patricia was a housekeeper at Blessing Hospital for many years. She later retired from the Illinois Veterans Home as a CNA after more than 20 years of service.

Patricia was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and also enjoyed watching the WWF. She liked to knit. Patricia loved her grandchildren and all the time she spent with them.

She is survived by:
TWO DAUGHTERS: Dawn Wand and her husband Josh of Quincy and Danielle Dorsey and her husband Shawn also of Quincy
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Brendan Wand and his significant other Hannah Makins; Xian Wand, Alvera Dorsey and Katherine Dorsey.
FOUR SIBLINGS: Thomas Laaker and his wife Virginia; Charles Laaker and his wife Pam; Jeffrey Laaker and his wife Laurie and John Laaker and his wife Lisa.
A SPECIAL FRIEND: Debbie Rowsey
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 3:00-6:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to the Good Samaritan Home Activities Fund. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
