Patricia A. Grave

Patricia A. Grave, age 89, of Quincy died on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:52 PM in Sunset Home. She was born on February 17, 1927, the daughter of Ralph H. and Alice G. (Price) Willer. She married John H. “Bud” Grave on February 17, 1954 in St. Francis Catholic Church. He preceded in death on September 10, 2004.

Pat worked in the Bindery department for Creative Printers and Jost & Keifer Printers until her retirement in 1994. She attended St. Francis grade school and graduated from Quincy High School.

Pat was a hard-worker and truly enjoyed working. She liked to go bowling and to watch bowling on TV. Pat loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. In recent years, Pat loved phone calls from her son, Craig, looked forward to visits from her granddaughter, Ashley, and loved the macarons from her grandson, Cory Shupe of the Thyme Square Café.

Patricia is survived by her children: Maggie Ruby of Springfield, Il; Jennifer (Dennis) Shupe; John (Nancy) Grave; Christopher Grave all of Quincy; and Craig (Molly) Grave of Arlington Heights, IL; one brother, Theodore Willer, of Quincy; and one sister, Charlotte Siebers.
Her grandchildren: Stacia (Jason) Ellermeier of Geneva, IL; Cory (Erica) Shupe; Ryan (Casey) Grave, and Leslie Grave all of Quincy; Ashley Grave of Jacksonville, IL; Chandler Grave of Killian, TX; Todd (Lindsey) Ruby of Ozark, MO; Troy Ruby of Highland, IN, a step-grand-daughter, Stacy (Jeff) Niffen of Quincy; Amelia and Andrew Grave of Arlington Heights, IL.
and 7 great-grandchildren, Ava and Ethan Ellermeier of Geneva, IL; Lydia and Griffin Ruby of Ozark, MO; Avery Ruby of Michigan City, IN; Leah and Adam Shupe of Quincy. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a son, Edwin Patrick Grave; a grandson, Bryan Dennis Shupe, two brothers: Ralph Willer, Jr. and Elwood Willer; two sisters: Marsha Buckner and Mary Alice Miles.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Blessing Cancer Center or Quincy Humane Society. www.dukerandhaugh.com
