Othol L. “Buster” Manley, Sr.
Othol L. “Buster” Manley, Sr., age 82, of the Sycamore Healthcare Centre, Quincy, died on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in the home. He was born on July 28, 1931 in Shelbina, MO, a son of Dias Manley & Rosella (Robinson) Smith.
Mr. Manley was employed by Geise Buick as an auto repairman and also drove a truck prior to his retirement.
He loved the outdoors, hunting & fishing and also loved playing cards with family and friends.
He is survived by:
TWO SONS, Othol L. Manley, Jr. (Kathy) and Delmar C. Manley, all of Quincy;
THREE DAUGHTERS, Kathleen Lewis of Quincy, Sandy Lewis of Springfield, IL, and Yolonda Eason and her husband Haywood of Des Moines, IA;
ONE STEP-SON, Dino Jackson of Des Moines, IA;
ONE STEP-DAUGHTER, Carmen Jackson and her husband Brian of Des Moines, IA;
11 GRANDCHILDREN, 27 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, 1 GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILD;
TWO BROTHERS, Donald Smith and Robert “Butch” (Bev) Smith, all of Quincy;
THREE SISTERS, Mary Elizabeth Clark of Des Moines, IA, Genevieve Davis & her husband Albert of Quincy and Dolly Mae Smith of Des Moines, IA; A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Dinah J. Jackson; three brothers, Cecil D. Manley, Harry Smith, Jr., and Harold T. Smith; and two sisters, Marilyn Hickman and Maxine Smith.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in Greenmount Cemetery. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
