Ollie “Pearl” Green

Dr. Ollie “Pearl” Green, of 2323 Hunter’s Trail Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, formerly of Quincy, Illinois died on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 4:40 a.m. at the Sycamore Healthcare Centre. She was born on October 3, 1936 in the city of Des Moines, Iowa. Her parents were the late Sullivan and Alice (Davis) Jackson they both preceded her in death. She married Moses Green, Sr. March 11, 1942. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1996. She was the third of 12 children. Her early education was received from WW Yates and RT Coles.

In her early career Dr. Green worked as a Clerk for the Internal Revenue Service for 10 years.

She gave her life to the Lord at the early age of 14. Dr. Green and her husband served faithfully at Martin Temple Church of God in Christ for over 40 years then relocated to Quincy, Illinois assisting Pastor R. C. Cole. They later started their own ministry, Christ Deliverance C.O.G.I.C for over 20 years. She was later directed to the area of Baton Rouge, LA Christ Deliverance Temple for over 5 years. She later merged along with her congregation Cathedral of Worship for over 4-years. She was again directed to move back to her home town, Kansas City, Missouri to assist her daughter and Son-in-Law in their new Ministry, Word of Deliverance C.O.G.I.C. She was presented an Honorary Doctorate in Theology in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Her long journey of supporting and assisting Pastors continued to grow, Dr. Green moved back to Quincy, Illinois to work with another Pastor, Rev. Rodney Williams and her daughter and Son-in-Law at Gethsemane Gospel Center C.O.G.I.C for 3-years. Her journey continues and she moved to Springfield, Missouri working with Bishop David Knox Sr., Dr. Green’s life has been a mirror reflection of her father that traveled as an Evangelist. Her last assignment was going back to work with Chief Apostle Lloyd Benson Sr. at World Link of Churches & Ministries, Inc. on his Pastoral Staff.

She is survived by her children: Ivory Sue Young of Jackson, MS, Moses Green, Jr. and his wife Rita of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Mallory and her husband William of Quincy, Janis Williams of Baton Rouge, LA, Diane North of Kansas City, MO, Cynthia Green of Akron, OH, Crystal Young and her husband Robert of Quincy and Jerry Green of Baton Rouge, LA

She served in the Local, District and State as Evangelist. She also worked as Chairperson for the Women’s Department; she worked as President for the State and National Greeters, International Workshop Facilitator, Christian Counselor for Drug Addiction and Domestic Violence for Illinois. Her ministry also extended to Television.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Worship by Bishop E.L. Warren Sr. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Worship. Arrangements are with the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.

    My prayers are with you at this time. Dr. Green was such a blessing to me. I loved her smile and warmness that her spirit released every time she came into a room. I will miss her dearly.
