Norman ‘Norm’ Schmelzle

Norman ‘Norm’ Schmelzle, age 85, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living. He was born on September 23, 1936 in Quincy, the son of Elmer and Freda (Beckman) Schmelzle. He married Ruthie Geschwandner of January 21, 1961 in St. John the Baptist Church. She survives. He served in the National Guard. Norm worked at Electric Wheel/Firestone as a product designer for 27 years. He then worked independently and had also worked at First Federal Bank in maintenance. Norm was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing crappie.

NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Allen Schmelzle, Brent Schmelzle (Christina), Cory Schmelzle (Diane), Bob Schmelzle (Justine), Kathy Rossmiller (Raymond), Mark Schmelzle, Susan Sanders (Bill), Lisa Barnes (Dane) and Lynn Ehmen (Ryan).
Great nieces, great nephews and other relatives also survive.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Schmelzle.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at 1:00 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Dominic School or for masses in Norm’s memory. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.     Ruthie – Norm is at home with Jesus! Going to miss his great smile and kind words! He was one of a kind!. You were blessed to have him for 60 years! Peace to you.
