Norman E. Williams

Norman E. Williams, age 85, of 1603 North 22nd, died on Friday, November 2, 2012 in his home. He was born on February 26, 1927 in Quincy, IL the son of Sydney C. “John” and Goldie (Dearwester) Williams. He married Marjorie Ballinger on August 30, 1947. She preceded him in death. Mr. Williams was a construction worker for Rees Construction for over 30 years. Most recently he had worked for the Quincy Park District at Westview Golf Course. Norman was a Army Veteran of the Korean War. He also belonged to the Elks Club.

He is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Michael Williams of Quincy; Diana Williams of Quincy and Randy Williams and his wife Nancy of Camp Point.
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Jacob Williams, Joey Williams, Shelby Sparrow and Joshua Williams.
FOUR GREAT GRANDCHILDREN
A SISTER: Alvena Hufford and her husband Harold.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, Norman was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Carl “Pete” Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
